Community Response Team

The Sarasota Manatee Community Response Team (SMCRT) is a 501(c)3 Florida Non-profit Corporation that developed out of the desire to help stop the spread of COVID19 in our local community. A call to action was placed on Facebook on March 23rd, 2020. Since then, we have organized a large and ever-growing organized response team to mitigate the disastrous effects of the COVID19 PPE shortage and have donated over 5500 pieces of PPE to those right here in our local community! SMCRT is comprised of a team of volunteer fabricators and transporters, a supply management facility, and a leadership team.  We are able to connect volunteer community members with the materials and instructions they need to fabricate cloth masks, surgical wrap masks, surgical caps, and ear savers. We then deliver and provide these items for free to our local healthcare professionals, first responders, essential employees, and individuals who are considered high-risk in our community.
